It requires a urine sample, into which a stick impregnated with various enzymes to detect different things is dipped. It takes a few minutes to do a dipstick urinalysis. This test helps screen for and diagnosis conditions pertaining to the genitourinary tract, such as urinary tract infections and kidney disorders, but is also useful in the detection of liver problems, problems in pregnancy and diabetes.
